Through the greater course of his life’s work as an author, humanitarian and the Founder of Dianetics and Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard’s travels brought him to varied locations spanning the globe.

In mapping his trail city by city and continent by continent, certain landmarks of significance—places where he made breakthrough discoveries—have been fully restored to be as they were when Mr. Hubbard lived and worked there.

SAINT HILL MANOR—EAST GRINSTEAD, SUSSEX, ENGLAND 

While internationally renowned as the home of L. Ron Hubbard, Founder of Dianetics and Scientology, Saint Hill Manor is also among the most historically significant estates in Sussex. The first record of Saint Hill appears in 1567, when Stephen Bord of Cuckfield left in his will one cottage and 12 acres of pasture held by “Thomas Nicholas of his Manor of Saynt Hill.”

LINKSFIELD RIDGE HOUSE—JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA 

In late 1960, L. Ron Hubbard traveled from his home at Saint Hill Manor for an extended stay in Johannesburg, South Africa. Among other milestones from his South African sojourn: He authored a “one man, one vote” constitution for apartheid-shackled South Africa.

FITZROY HOUSE—LONDON, ENGLAND 

In late 1956, 35/37 Fitzroy Street was acquired by the Hubbard Association of Scientologists International and served as L. Ron Hubbard’s London office and headquarters for Scientology organizations of the time.

ORIGINAL FOUNDING CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY—WASHINGTON, DC 

In just five years, Scientology had grown from one foundation to an international organization. With the vital need for worldwide communication lines to coordinate Churches and groups on five continents, L. Ron Hubbard moved the central operations of Scientology from Phoenix to Washington, DC.

CAMELBACK HOUSE—PHOENIX, ARIZONA

With his isolation and identification of the human spirit in 1952, L. Ron Hubbard founded the Scientology religion. Its first formal organization was the Hubbard Association of Scientologists in Phoenix, Arizona.

L. RON HUBBARD HOUSE—BAY HEAD, NEW JERSEY

The L. Ron Hubbard Heritage Site and birthplace of Dianetics: So it was in the winter of 1950, so it is today.
